Dear Prospective Patient,
Since limiting my practice to vein disorders in 1988, I have been fortunate to have been involved in major developments in the field of Phlebology. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, the marriage of ultrasound technology with sclerotherapy revolutionized the outpatient treatment of varicose vein disease, by allowing the non-surgical treatment of vast numbers of vein problems that previously were only amenable to surgical stripping and ligation. I incorporated the latest technological advancement in varicose vein treatment shortly after the FDA approved Endovenous Laser Treatment (EVLT) in 2002 for large varicose veins problems. I offer the latest CoolTouch laser technology for my patients. EVLT is performed in the office without the need for general anesthesia or sedation, is well tolerated by patients, allows for immediate ambulation and resumption of most activities with results that are quite satisfying. Most patients obtain excellent results often without the need for even an aspirin. I am also pleased to be one of the first doctors to offer the latest Veinwave technology, approved for spider vein treatment in the U.S. in June 2009. This is a revolutionary new treatment for spider veins which you can read about on on this website (www.veincop.com).
Phlebology remains a fascinating and satisfying field for me. My credentials reflect my commitment and dedication to the field of Phlebology, assuring you that I have kept current and will continue to keep current, with the latest diagnostic and therapeutic options for vein disorders. I have used my clinical experience to refine techniques throughout the years. My goal is to obtain the best possible outcome for my patients whether they have large varicose veins or small varicose vein disorders.
If you live in the Southwest Chicago suburbs it is likely that I treated a friend, relative or neighbor. If you are unsure of which treatment option is best suited for you, or if you want a second opinion, call my office for an appointment. I look forward to meeting you.
Sincerely,
George C. Kuefner, MD, RPVI, RVT |
